"LITTLE COLONEL" PROGRAM
Parents often ask, "When is the best time to start my child skiing?". Experts around the world would agree that children, based on their physical and emotional maturity levels, do best starting between the ages of 4 and 7.
Our "Little Colonel" group lesson program is designed with just those ages in mind. Our Little Colonel instructors specialize in communicating basic skiing skills and safety, while emphasizing the FUN to be had on the mountain. Lessons, lifts, and rentals are available at affordable pricing, and can be arranged as a 6 week program or call 518-692-7337 to reserve a time on a particular day that is convenient for you.

WILLARD MOUNTAIN FREESTYLE TEAM
Willard Mountain’s Freestyle has been long known for its excellence in training and is a highly-regarded force in the Northeast’s competitive freestyle circles. If you don’t believe us, ask Bruce Bolesky who often comments about his Willard Mountain Freestyle days. He eventually became a National Amateur Freestyle Champion in 1975 and competed in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. He states, “I can’t give Willard Mountain enough credit for my ability to excel in the sport of skiing. As a young man, I was able to train and compete through Willard Mountain. The coaches were exceptional. The ability to spin the laps and keep training on the lift system allowed tight and well-orchestrated training sessions. The staff and management at Willard made it so easy for me to progress in the sport. Smaller ski areas have bigger hearts!”

Our head Freestyle coach Dan Petteys remains committed to providing the same excellence to young skiers that Bruce experienced during his Willard years. Dan is a Certified USAA Mogul and Aerials Coach. Athletes on the Willard Freestyle team enjoy competing in local events, State and Eastern Regional Championships. Dan has helped coach at Purgatory near Durango, Co. and brings his experience back home to Willard.

This February holiday break, we have the unique experience of allowing skiers to utilize our moguls course on the Colonel the days following the Bolesky Bump Off.  Registration form for this "Freestyle Fun Fest" Camp is below.
